Handspun Suri Alpaca Art Yarn with Blue Green Lamb Locks
Handspun Suri Alpaca Art Yarn with Blue Green Lamb Locks
If you're looking for a one of a kind special yarn, this is it - handspun Suri alpaca yarn with dyed lamb locks! It's a textured fun art yarn to get your creative juices flowing! It's about 3 ounces of fun yarn made from my Suri alpaca who lives happily in Texas~ Due to the thickness of the yarn, even though it is Suri alpaca- it will hold shape much better. I have made little dog sweaters from thick handspun yarn, and it did not keep growing (that is, the sweater...hahahaha, not the dog!) These art yarns are also fun and super nice on scarf edges or hat rims. *Drop spindle is not included*...that's to make the yarn look cooler! hahahaha~ I actually use a spinning wheel but that did not fit in the picture! Alpaca Yarn Gift Set, Pink Purple Hand-Dyed Suri Alpaca Yarn Set
Alpaca Yarn Gift Set, Pink Purple Hand-Dyed Suri Alpaca Yarn Set
This is a lovely alpaca yarn gift set for someone new to alpaca yarns. Suri alpaca yarn doesn't have memory and does not hold shape well. It tends to be a little more slippery. I like to combine Suri yarn with other alpaca or mixed yarn to create hats and other items. This is the combo I love to use- I double (sometimes triple) strand these and make hats myself. Gift set includes the following: Hand dyed with environmentally friendly dye by me, US Suri alpaca skein, millspun (2 ounces/ 150 yards) 100% Alpaca yarn from Peru (50 grams, approx 91 yards Alpaca natural blend yarn 50% baby alpaca, 40% fine merino wool, 10% silk from Peru (50 grams, approx 122 yards) *KNITTING NEEDLES ARE NOT INCLUDED* FREE SHIPPING in the USA

White Millspun Yarn from Our Herd
White Millspun Yarn from Our Herd
This 100% Suri alpaca yarn is made from the fleeces of our alpaca girls. I batched a few of the finer fleeced girls' neck fibers and sent it to a mill in the US. This is the most economical  millspun yarn from our herd. Each ball is about 2.5 ounces and about 150 yards. It is about 16 WPI putting it in the sport weight yarn category. Suri alpaca yarn will take dye very well, so this yarn can become any color you can imagine. Suri fiber is known for its beautiful silky drape so it is best to create items such as scarves and shawls that do not require memory. You may also notice a cool feel when you touch Suri alpaca fiber. This is also one of the characteristics of Suri. Since Suri yarn is valuable, I try to create things with one yarn ball :) I have woven a simple short scarf on a rigid heddle loom with this exact yarn and it turned out very soft and drapey.
